The Director General of the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF), Alberto Wenceslas MOUNGUENGUI MOUDOKI, participated in the Global Digital Summit, held from March 5 to 7, 2024, in Washington DC, USA. The summit, organized by the World Bank, focused on the theme “Accelerating Digital – Connecting, Innovating & Transforming.”

During the summit, the Director General took part in plenaries and thematic sessions where he discussed the importance of digital technology and its impact on public services.

His speech during the plenary titled “Innovate: Making Digital Faster, Smarter, and Safer” highlighted Gabon’s strategy. He emphasized the importance placed by the President of the Transition, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire OLIGUI NGUEMA, on investing in digital technology and the need to understand the implications of artificial intelligence in order to make informed decisions.

The summit participants also addressed crucial issues related to cybersecurity, connectivity, and innovative approaches to improving digital services. Additionally, during his presentation, the Director General of ANINF emphasized that mastering artificial intelligence requires open discussions and efforts to bridge the digital divide. He also reminded the audience that this technology must be human-centered, with an approach that values research, innovation, and education.
